Another factor in regards to game attendance (specifically football) is finding decent lodging during a game weekend.
If you don't book a room a year or more in advance the probability of finding a decent place to stay in Laramie is nearly impossible. My schedule doesn't allow me the luxury of booking a year in advance as I'm sure is the case for many other families and if decent rooms would be available say a month or two out I would make the trip far more often.
I'm not going to fly into Denver, drive to Laramie and then have to drive over the summit or down south to Colorado to rest my head after a day of football.
