Comparing Evan Svoboda to Josh Allen, here's a comparison to JA17's first few games and Evan's first few games.
Josh Allen's first start was a loss to EMU in 2015. Then he broke his collarbone and was out for the year. He's equal with Svoboda at this point, except Svoboda lost to TEXAS.
Allen then in 2016 went to beat NIU at home in 2 overtimes after a lengthy lightning delay and then lost at Nebraska 52-17 the following week.
EMU went 1-11 in 2015. Their sole win was against us. NIU went 5-7 in 2016. Nebraska went 9-4, losing to #21 Tennessee in the Music City Bowl.
Comparing that to Svoboda's first three games, last season he lost to Texas. Then he lost to AZST, who kicked an SEC team's ass tonight, then he lost to Idaho, who hung with a top 10 ranked Oregon team.
For his first three games, he's had it tougher than JA17 did, and next week Svoboda gets BYU. To compare to Josh his 4th game was UC Davis, which he won.
Then Josh played EMU again and lost. Again. EMU went 7-6 this season, losing to Old Dominion in the Bahamas Bowl.
Also take into consideration the cast of players Josh had available versus those Svoboda has available...
