While the Class of 2015's Signing Day was yesterday, it doesn't necessarily mean the 2015 Recruiting year is over. The Wyoming basketball team has one open scholarship for this year and Santa Fe College guard Morris Marshall will be in Laramie this weekend with hopes of filling that ride.

Marshall is a native of Lake City (Fla.) and Columbia High School. He is majoring in psychology and was named First Team All-Conference as a freshman at Santa Fe in 2013.

This season Marshall is averaging 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and three assists per contest in just 18 minutes of play for the Gainesville-based school. He has made 39 percent of his three pointers this season as well.

Chris Mowry coaches Marshall at Santa Fe and said Wyoming will get a look at a very unselfish player who he said has athletic ability to play in any conference in America.

"He is a long, athletic guard who has an above average three point game," Mowry said. "He is good off the dribble, though maybe not in a traditional shake-and-bake way. He is better at coming off screens and curling and popping. Those sort of things."

Mowry said Marshall has a terrific mid-range game and is adept at hitting floaters and seeing the floor. He added that Marshall seems to be excited at the idea of getting his teammates involved in the game more so than filling up the bucket on his own.

"He is a great kid, a great teammate and a solid student," Mowry said.

To hear Mowry tell it, Marshall has been under recruited his entire career. Coming out of Lake City, Marshall had one scholarship offer to Savannah State and had visited Furman. Mowry said his staff recruited Marshall with a pitch insisting he needed to play junior college basketball one hour from his home to increase his visibility. While he could have left last season, Mowry said Marshall chose to come back for his sophomore season.

Mowry said Wyoming nibbled around Marshall in Sept. as they were recruiting Florida for its 2015 recruiting class.

"The coaches at Wyoming have known us for years and (Wyoming assistant coach) Allen Edwards was here in Sept. and we told him about Morris," Mowry said. "Then they got the commitment from Eric Turner, but Edwards watched Morris again. After Turner decommitted, they came back a week ago Thursday to see him again and Morris had a great practice. I bet between our shooting drills and our five-on-five he hit 80 percent of his shots.

"I told Wyoming that they should come see every practice we have because everyone really stepped up their game that day."

According to Mowry, Marshall has scholarship offers from Wyoming, Indiana-Purdue (Fort Wayne), and Norfolk State.

Wyoming will be Marshall's first visit and Mowry said although Marshall is excited for the visit, he is apprehensive about the weather forecast of cold weather. Morwy said he has told Marshall to meet with the underclassmen who might be his teammates. He said Marshall is likely the type who might not commit on his visit, but will be excited to check out the program.

"He is very interested," Mowry said. "But he needs to see it. We told him the staff and the program at Wyoming is one we would recommend. We have know Coach Shyatt and Scott (Duncan) for more than 30 years. We know what they are about."
