In the many recruiting classes that I have watched being signed by Wyoming, been a Wyoming fan for over 38 years now, the one thing that struck me was the caliber of schools that we beat to sign these young men.

I can remember for many years, that if we knew Wyoming was going up against an Oregon State or even schools within our own conference like Boise State and even New Mexico that we rarely had a chance of signing them. We were typically competing against the Nicholls State's of the world and that has all changed. I think back to the coaches and even though they might not of said it, the coaches had a defeatist attitude when it came to recruiting. Wyoming has improved its facilities, and more is coming, but more than anything, we have the right coaches in place.

We have two truly impressive guys leading the Wyoming football program and the men's basketball program. Not to snub the other coaches, but these two programs are the flagship programs for the university and for too long languished in underperformance. Both Coach Bohl and Coach Shyatt are mature guys that have experienced the highest levels of success and most of all know what and how to build programs at a university like UW. Let us all get out to each and every game that we possibly can and renew our Cowboy Joe memberships or join for the first time.

This football recruiting class is truly the best that I have seen in many a year, and I know that it will be combined with great classes in the years to come to build a program that this state and this university and its fans so desperately want and deserve.
