Wyoming has added five verbals the last week and picked up another in defensive end Solomon Byrd, a 6-foot-4 and 220 pound prospect from Palmdale (Cali.). Byrd will be the first division one player to sign FBS from Knight High School.

Byrd fits the Cowboys type of defensive end, the UW recruiting staff is looking with his rangy built and athleticism, to add more size to his frame as he develops in college. He looks to have good upside in the future, as a diamond in the rough type recruit.

UW head coach Craig Bohl made a home visit to Byrd last week, followed by his official trip to Laramie and liked what he saw in Wyoming during his visit.

"After having the best time of my life in Laramie, I've decided to close my recruitment and fully commit to the University of Wyoming," said Byrd.

Byrd also plays tight end in high school. He has produced multiple player-of-the-week honors while showing pass rushing capability, a key ingredient to his interest from college programs.
