Despite the calendar reading November, Concord (Calif.) defensive back Xavier Crawford has seen action in just five quarters of football this year after transferring schools.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback now calls Clayton Valley Charter his academic home and is finally able to help his new squad on the field.

Last weekend Crawford saw his most extensive action of the fall, playing an entire game and picking off two passes, while returning one for a score.

"It felt like I had to let the lion loose," Crawford laughed Sunday night.

Despite a lack of field time this fall, Crawford has maintained a high recruiting profile. He holds scholarship offers from Wyoming, San Diego State, San Jose State, Montana, Eastern Washington, Hawaii and believes Utah is getting close to offering as well.

Crawford said his top three are Wyoming, San Diego State and Utah, saying he hopes to set up visits to all three over the next month.

"I just like the energy of the team at Wyoming," Crawford said. "And the coaches never stopped writing me letters even when I was playing. I really liked that."

Crawford added that he has a cousin who attends San Diego State and the thought of attending the same school as a member of his family is intriguing. He said Utah piques his interest due to the fact it is a larger school than Wyoming or San Diego State in a larger conference.
