Jaelin Ratliff has been diligently preparing for his senior season. He has also been busy competing and showcasing his talents at a variety of summer football camps.
This summer he has camped with Arizona State, Fresno State, Oregon State, and the University of Washington, earning offensive MVP honors at the Washington camp.
The hard work is beginning to pay off for the St. Mary's (Stockton) receiver. He recently garnered his first scholarship offer from the University of Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference. Ratliff was excited to get an offer from the Cowboys, and is hopeful that it may lead to more offers.
"I was a little surprised to get the offer because I had not heard much from them. I am looking forward to maybe visiting the campus and checking out their facilities and meeting with the coaching staff."
Ratliff, an elusive receiver and kick return specialist, posted impressive statistics during his junior season (30 receptions for 518 yards and 11 TDs, which included 2 kickoff return TDs) but he believes he can improve on those numbers, and he is also quick to point out the Rams offense has multiple dynamic options on offense including returning receivers Bryan Pascual and Javonte Norman.
"Kaleb (quarterback Kaleb Parrish) will have a lot of weapons this season. We should be explosive on offense," said Ratliff.
Along with his recent offer from Wyoming, Ratliff has also visited Fresno State and was impressed during his trip to the Bulldogs' campus. Ratliff has a positive outlook for the season both for the team and individually.
"Me and my teammates are going to keep working hard and just get ready for a big season."
