While Jordan Stanton's name is making a name for himself this spring as a linebacker on the Wyoming football team, he isn't the only Stanton who has the attention of the Cowboy football staff.

Valencia (Calif.) native, Joshua Stanton recently received a scholarship offer to play for the Cowboys starting in 2014. The younger Stanton stands 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds and accounted for 55 tackles and 14 sacks a year ago for his Valencia Viking squad. He said Wyoming is his first scholarship offer, although he seems to have the attention of some other schools, such as Arizona State, Colorado, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Utah State and San Diego State.

"I am a very fierce player," Stanton said. "I am always one of the main players to look for defensively. I am really fierce when he is on the field. I am a different person on the field and off the field."

Stanton said he has heard good things about Laramie from his brother, who also encouraged Joshua to go to the school that makes him the most comfortable.

"(Jordan) told me he really likes (Wyoming)," Stanton said. He is really looking forward to being an asset to the Cowboy program. He wants to start this year. He is excited to be a Wyoming Cowboy and dominate this year.

"I think (Wyoming) is a really great school," the younger Stanton said. "I could see myself going there. I feel like I can dominate my first year as a true freshman. Academically, I feel like they have what I want to major in which is communications. I am really liking Wyoming. It is one of my top choices right now."

Joshua said the Wyoming coaches have talked to him about playing a hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker position for them - one they compare to the work being done by Tyrell Suggs. Joshua said he and his brother have played on the same team previously, but it was just for one season in high school.

"It was a really big thrill to play with my brother," Stanton said. "He was this monster on the field. I am a younger version of him. We have the same mentality in that we want to dominate on the field. He is really hard hitter and that is the hardest hit I have ever had - from him."

While Wyoming seems to occupy a place high on Stanton's list, it is far from the only school recruiting him. He said he will camp at USC, UCLA, Cal, Colorado's Redlands (Calif.) Camp and maybe Wyoming.

"Colorado is telling me they really like my position and they think they might be able to offer me," Stanton said. "They just want to see me in person. SDSU is coming to meet me at my school tomorrow. Minnesota will be coming to my practice and same with Arizona State. They are exciting to see me in my senior year, see if I can dominate and be able to offer me."
