I can remember a time way back when Bohl games actually had some excitement and meaning behind them before they became filler content for ESPN. I'll be interested how intense the promotional effort UW will offer fans will be when most are still looking back at the season and wondering what we were on to beat the MWC and MAC champ on the road but get skunked by New Mexico and Hawaii at home. “Our players are really excited. We’ve had a rigorous year,” Bohl said. We’ve had some times we’ve played really well and we anticipate playing really well in this bowl game.”
"Rigorous." Can't say I or many other fans shared that sentiment after the Hawaii game, but coach has always seen something on the field this season the rest of us haven't.

Another Bohl game is fine I guess. It gives a bunch of kids who won't ever play college football again to play another game, so good for them. Bowl games in general predictably lost a lot of their excitement for most fans though when they started passing out ribbons to everybody.

But maybe the extra practices will make us better next year like the last two Bohl games did. And maybe, just maybe going to a Bohl game seals the deal with a recruit who was stressing out over whether to sign with us or Nowhere State. Does anybody know if Bohl gets a Bohl Bonus in his contract? That would be well played if he did...
