Just a quick look at the stats shows how incredibly unbalanced the Wyoming offense was and why it was so easy to defense.
Totals for the run game for 2020:

Loss - 162 yds
Net gain - 1,317 yds

Avg. gain per play - 4.8 yds
Avg per game - 219.5 yds
The top runner for the season was Valladay of course. Vallady had 99 running plays for a gain of 574 yards, had loss yards of 24, for a net gain of 550 yards for the season. Valladay had 4 TD's for the season, averaged 5.6 yards per carry for an average of 110 yards per game.
Smith was next and he had 88 running plays for a gain of 493 yards, had loss yards of 5, for a net gain of 488 yards for the season. Smith had 5 TD's for the season, averaged 5.5 yards per carry for an average of 81.3 yards per game.

Totals for the passing game for 2020:
Games - 6
Number of passing completions - 62
Total yards gained - 920
Average gain per reception - 14.8
TD's - 1
Average per game - 153.3 yds
There were a number of more pass plays called as these numbers were for receptions only, but still only 1 TD for the season of 6 games. I remember seeing that Williams had about a 53% completion rate so there were approximately 117 pass attempts. Still 275 run plays to approximately only 117 pass plays called. How would you defense a team like that if you were a DC?
Our Top receiver for the year was Eberhardt, who caught 16 passes for 252 yards, no TD's and only averaged 42 yards receiving per game.
Neyor on the other hand, only had 8 receptions for 6 games for a total of 248 yards, and averaged 31 yards per reception, but only averaged 41.3 yards per game and no TD's for the season.
Valladay and Smith were 2nd and 7th on the reception list. Valladay had 13 receptions for 105 yards for the season.
The TE's: Welch had 5 receptions for the season for 95 total yards which amounted to 19.0 yards per catch and averaged 15.8 yards receiving per game.
Weinman had 4 receptions for the season for 49 total yards which amounted to 12.2 yards per catch and averaged 8.2 yards receiving per game.
Marcotte had 1 reception for the season for 12 yards and only averaged 2.4 yards per game.
I am sure Vigen and his apologists will be bring out the youth of the QB corps and the fact that Sean was unfortunately hurt so early in the season. But in all sincerity Sean's completion percentage hasn't been all that great also. I am sure that Vigen would also argue that the execution wasn't good enough in the passing game and that is why he had to rely on the run game so heavily. If this had been the first year I would give him more slack, but this is the 7th year of him as the OC and only 1 of those seasons can it be construed that the passing game was any type of real threat. The coaching up of these players in the passing game has been abysmal to be on the generous side. These stats proves to me that the game plan and coaching emphasis and just actually every minute detail of the offensive coaches jobs should be analyzed and most of it should be thrown out the window and they have to start anew imo. This isn't just a one season failure, this is a chronic failure of a flawed offensive system and coaches that have failed for one reason or another.
