In 111 years Kansas has had seven basketball coaches, five since James Naismith. Oh, you might also note the only one of the seven with a losing record? James Naismith.
Only one of the seven was fired -- Ted Owens.
When you have that kind of stability in a program there is that chance to build consitency and stability.
Would we all like Wyoming to be like Kansas or Gonzaga, sure.
But you know what, it doesn't happen over night or by constantly making changes.

There are several times people on the board will bring up San Diego State and what they have done in recent years. Yes, it is impressive, but it did not happen in one year or two years or even six years.
The Aztecs could be headed to the NCAA for the seventh year in a row. But this is also Fisher's 16th season at San Diego State.

He is 336-183 all-time at San Diego State.
In his first six years the Aztecs were 81-97 and went to the NCAA once. The Aztecs had a winning season twice in his first six years, and one of those winning seasons was 16-14.
With that kind of a record we have folks on this board who would be screaming about how in the world did San Diego State put up with such mediocrity for six years. I mean two winning records? And a losing record in the sixth year. The Aztecs should have fired Fisher. Why on earth did it take so long to build a program?

Unfortunately for the rest of the MWC, the folks at SD State could see the growth, even if it didn't result in instant championships and now look at what the Aztecs have.
