I don't blame coach Bohl for not going into detail on kids leaving. There are a number of reasons. To not comment any more than say left for personal reasons is the safest approach. You need to be consistent in addressing the situations. It creates a rather slippery slope if you pick and chose when to comment, and only come out with a more detailed statement if a player speaks out.

Sorry things didn't work out for Will Tutein.
But one thing to consider is the Cowboys are trying to upgrade, and a focus has been on defense.
I am sure the young man gave his all, but as we all have discovered at points in life our best is not always good enough. We learn from it and move on.
Yes, he received playing time a year ago as a defensive back and lettered, and then he was moved to linebacker this year.
I am asking seriously, is that a surprise? Look at the young influx the Cowboys had a defensive back. The talent level did increase off of the freshman who saw time on the field this year. In evaluating talent, it is doubtful Will would have had the playing time this year that he did the previous season if he stayed in the defensive backfield.
The Cowboys were searching for linebacker help. They moved several players to LB. Some adjusted and played. Some didn't.
This year he played in 11 games. Three unassisted tackles and five assisted tackles.
A year ago he was a defensive play he played in 12 games. He had 24 unassisted tackles and 11 assisted tackle. He had zero pass break ups. He had zero interceptions.
I am in no way trying to question the young man, and I fully understand his frustration, but in rebuilding a team it's about looking for ways to constantly upgrade the talent level. In reading back through archives, I did notice that he originally went to Chadron State but left after one year. A friend from the Virigin Islands suggested he walk-on at Wyoming, and he initially balked, "I was like, 'I don't think I'm good enough man, I didn't even get invited back to D2 fall camp,'" Tutein said.
I don't say any of that to disparage the young man, just pointing out some of the situations that could have been involved in the decision to not offer him a scholarship. There was an opportunity a year ago and he got a chance and did well. As the talent level increased the decision was made that given his size to see how he would adapt to a different position, where he would get more of a chance to play. It didn't work out.

Olive left for reasons that didn't deal with the football team and didn't deal with being in Wyoming. He was classy with his tweets. He understood there was a responsibility on his part for what happened, and is mature enough he did not try and find someone else to blame for what happened.

As for Bailey, it was a struggle for him, and a scholarship wasn't coming his way. Meanwhile, the Cowboys did recruit the young man from Longmont. I am sure Bailey had a lot of emotions about how his season went, and was probably every bit as frustrated as the many fans who did not mince words in their critical comments. I would have been shocked if he had stayed.
