I thought I would take a look at a how players/teams of interest to UW (former players, former recruits, future opponents, etc.) are doing this year. Will add to it as items come up.
First topic is former Pokes that have transferred out. Here are the latest from guys that have left UW but are still playing college ball:
1. Marcus Williams - Texas A&M - Let's just get the big one out of the way first. Williams has stepped in right away as a starter at TAMU. He is averaging 9/3/3 on a pretty balanced team. He leads them in assists and is second in minutes played. As you will see from the rest of the list, this is probably the only player we miss in terms of competitive basketball.
2. Kwane Marble - Loyola Marymount - Reunited with Allen Edwards at LMU, Kwane is averaged 5/3 in 20 mpg off the bench for a LMU team that has been a little bit disappointing.
3. Drew Lamont - Playing at NAIA Georgetown - I think that is the same NAIA team that Brodricks Jones ended his career at, but I don't recall for sure. Didn't bother to look up stats.
4. TJ Taylor - Cal Poly - Taylor transferred to James Madison initially but found himself buried on the bench there last year so he transferred to Cal Poly for this season. He is averaging 6/6 in 26 mpg. Pretty similar to his time here and frankly on an equally bad team.
5. Trace Young - Alabama State - Young initially transferred to a JC in Illinois (John Logan) and then signed with Alabama State. He was on the roster at Alabama State last year, but didn't play (don't know why). He has played in 5 games this season and leads the team in scoring average at 10.8 ppg. He hasn't played the last 4 games (don't know why). Story of his career really. Plenty of talent, but has only managed to play in a grand total of 25 D-1 games through 4 seasons in the college ranks.
6. Tyler Morman - Southern Miss - Has spent the last 2 years at USM and has frankly not done much on a pretty mediocre team. Has a total of 23 points in 3 D-1 seasons.
7. Javier Turner - Point University - Is there such a thing as Point University? Yes, apparently so. Do I know anything about it? No. Was Turner a D-1 player. Also, no.
8. Greg Milton - Cal State - San Marcos - Milton is playing at D2 CS-San Marcos.
9. Brandon Porter - Humboldt State - Not sure he is actually playing but is on the roster at D2 Humboldt State
10. Terrin Dickey - Pima Junior College - A walk-on at UW last year from ABQ, Dickey has transferred to Pima CC in Arizona.
11. Bradley Belt - Georgia Highlands College - Last and..well, probably least is Bradley Belt. Quite a distinguished career he has put together. He managed to get dismissed from Wyoming after having basically zero impact. Transferred to Kilgore JUCO in college and never played to my knowledge, transferred to Georgia Highlands where has spent the last 2 years and barely played. So, in 4 seasons of college basketball he has played a total of 0 D-1 games (unless I missed one, I don't think he ever saw the floor here), and 8 JC games where has scored a grand total of 4 points. If that doesn't sum up the Allen Edwards era and the 2018 class of his, I don't know what does.
I don't mean to be critical of any of these players, but dear lord was AE a disaster on the recruiting trail.
