Well shiiitteee….

You need to really relish a great season like the one the UW 2021-2022 men’s basketball team had.

As we can see, and for various reasons, things can turn to shit pretty fast in todays college athletic landscape.

I hope it isn’t another 10 years or more before we can experience another great men’s basketball season.

I’ve said it before, and unfortunately will have to say it again, to be a true Wyoming fan, you must learn to handle disappointment and be a very patient person.

OK, enough........

Enough of the pizzing down our leg, woe is me gnashing of teeth and wailing of how all is lost....

As long as Coach Linder is the head basketball coach at UW he has my full support... I think he has the ability and the resolve to see the UW basketball program succeed. May take a year or two, but he deserves our whole hearted support.

To those players who have left the program? Turning their back on the University of Wyoming comes with a price.... Screw those weak, gutless, without honor pussies. They are dead to me and their names are forever stricken from my memory.

The going is going to be rocky for the next bit, now more then ever we need to hitch up our "big-boy panties"
and show being a Poke fan is a lifetime commitment, thru good times and bad... (Drinking good whiskey.... or bad....will help in this process,,,)

No matter how bad it is, its still infinitely better than being a CSU fan,... those poor miserable basturds....

So let's stick together and look to better days ahead!

The year Wyoming didn't get to shoot it's shot

After watching basketball all weekend it is apparent there are a lot of good teams but not necessarily a great, dominant team. Which makes this Cowboy basketball season all the more disappointing because it was there for the taking. The preseason talk of Final Fours and making hotel arrangements in Houston was hyperbole and a little of poking the bear but this was the year if everything went as planned...I know if ifs and buts were candies and nuts....Cali kids aside... with a healthy roster there weren't many teams that could handle Ike in the post which does so much for Maldo and other shooters. I'm sure that's why Linder is so pissed is that he could see us making a deep run back in the early summer.

More bball speculation

I know it’s probably time to stop the speculation around Ike’s intentions. Can’t resist wondering out loud though, at what point we can safely assume he’s staying.

Yesterday, Graham retweeted the following Kobe quote,
“Everything negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.”

A lot of negative circumstances for Wyoming this year. Hoping this sentiment means he’s gonna stick it out here… Over analyzing everything at this point. lol

The pessimist in me told my brother the season from hell officially ends when Ike announces he’s leaving. Is it possible to catch one break this year?

Transfer portal

Thought I would start a thread to track interesting portal happenings (besides the UW exodus).

First item is Kwane Marble is transferring again (probably a grad transfer, able to use 5th year due to Covid). Another case of the grass wasn’t always greener. He is moving on after having limited impact at LMU.

Definitely some comparisons to Noah Reynolds in my mind. Like Reynolds, Marble had his biggest impact as a scorer on a terrible team with no other options.

Reynolds is a better offensive player than Kwane IMO, but it wouldn’t be out of the question for Reynolds career to follow the same path, particularly if he chooses the wrong place.

Men's Basketball Assistant Coaching Candidates

Will be interesting to see who Linder brings in to replace Wicks (and I assume Rodgers as well). A couple potential candidates:

1. Vinnie McGhee - Player Development coach at USF. Was on Linder's staff for 3 years at UNC.

2. Dan Russell - A UW alum who started as a GA under Schroyer (won't hold that against him). Current assistant at Weber. Had a successful run as an assistant at Montana State and a Head Coach at Casper College.

Any other suggestions?
