WAZZU and OSU on the MWC schedules

UW at Washiington State on November 30, 2024. Here is to a bolstered MWC conference in future years and seeing Or State and Wazzu in Laramie every other year plus maybe a couplie other national brands and not UTEP, New Mex State etc, but

I was very optimistic several months ago. I see things differently now and the PAC 2 is sitting back and looking at all options. I hope the merger straight up or reversed happens, but right now OSU and WAZZU are looking at their options--rebuilding the PAC12 and once Florida State moves things will unravel further. Clemson follows and possibly 2 other ACC teams go other places as well.

The PAC 2 merges with the remaining ACC and forms basically a coast to coast conference which Stanford and Cal will appreciate as would SMU. They fill in the middle with Tulane and a couple Texas Schools along with Memphis and then wait a few more years and raid MWC with Boise State, SDSU, CSU and Fresno State. Probably AFA as well--here is hoping that UW kicks butt the next couple of years and possibly UW comes in to firm up the Denver market with AFA. This new CCC conference--coast to coast.

Like I said--I hope I am wrong, but lets see.

The new PAC 12-(2) Commish states as much at the new conference on Thursday..."“The football agreement ( with the MWC) was critical in advancing those goals for us,” she continued. “I would say in terms of the future, … our obligation to our programs and our student athletes is to remain open-minded to all options. We really do feel that there are going to be a lot of different options on the table that we need to consider and pursue.”

A real path to the Playoff now exists

It's official! 12 team playoff with the top five ranked conference champions in, regardless of conference, and then the next 7 highest ranked teams in. First round highest seed hosts...(5 hosts 12, 6 hosts 11, 7 hosts 10, and 8 hosts 9) Can you imagine a Playoff game in Laramie?!

For the first time ever, the MW champion will likely be in the playoffs. Love this for the MW and UW! Can't wait!

Never was a big fan. Even when he had the hype I questioned it. I don't like his basketball and his whines he plays with refs, players and fans. He can bring players in but can't utilize them and keep them. A coach should never get kicked out of a game the middle of the first half. IMO the coach is the most important asset to the team. If he isn't coaching something wrong.

NCAA expansion?

96 could be the new 68. Participation trophies for everyone! Sad thing is Wyoming would still miss the Big Dance this year.

Attendance numbers arent great already, so why double down and make the regular season even more irrelevant? Why have a regular season at all? Just draw up a tourney with everyone and play it out? Madness.
