Wyoming football picked up its first commitment for the 2019 class and the verbal coming from an instate prospect. Sheridan High School athlete Parker Christensen gave the UW coaching staff his commitment on Sunday night.

Christensen joins his former high school teammate in offensive lineman Blayne Baker, who signed with Wyoming in February. Baker is now in Laramie for summer workouts and helped aid Parker on his final decision.

Christensen was recruited for the H-Back position by the Pokes, though his versatility could allow him to be looked at multiple offensive positions.

"While the recruiting process went on, I became most comfortable with the Wyoming coaching staff and the direction of the program," said Christensen. "I felt most at home with Wyoming and the way things are going there."

The 6-foot-2 and 205 pound prospect had attended the Brown and Gold Camp in Laramie during early June and received his first offer at the event from UW head coach Craig Bohl and his staff.

He received offers from Wyoming, Montana, and Montana State, and interest from numerous Ivy League schools.
